End of the Year Activities: 3rd Grade End of the Year Math Word Problems
Engage your third graders with this end of the year math activity – scavenger hunt and get them solving multi-step word problems using the skills they’ve learned throughout the year!
This math activity for the end of the year includes 24 challenging word problem cards that require students to use their place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills.
So much fun and keeps them thinking right up until the end of the year!
★ Students are up and moving while still being focused and engaged. ★
They start at a poster that you assign, or at a random poster. Either way works well. They read and solve the problem on that poster. Then they look for that answer on all the other posters. They move to their answer and complete the new problem on that poster. Students continue this process until all problems are complete.
As they work through the problems, students will be able to “catch” their mistakes as there are only posters with correct answers. All questions are multi-step to give students a review of the dreaded…word problem.
