Are you looking for fun yet rigorous digital equivalent fraction activities to develop and deepen your students’ understandings? In these interactive Google Slides™ fraction activities, students create designs using Pattern Blocks.

Here’s How it Works.

Each digital equivalent fraction challenge gives students the value of either the hexagon, trapezoid, blue rhombus, or triangle Pattern Blocks. Students are then challenged to create a design worth a given amount based on that block’s value.

For extra creativity, they name their design. Then, they must justify that their design is a solution to the challenge by writing a “Convince Me” statement.

These digital equivalent fraction tasks are powerful tools for building a concrete understanding of fractions. Your students will be completely engaged and challenged as they create pattern block pictures equal to a given fraction amount. The leveled tasks are AMAZINGLY EFFECTIVE!

The activities use the proportional relationships between Pattern Blocks to build an understanding of unit and equivalent fractions and comparing.

All tasks allow for individual creativity while building student understanding. Perfect for motivating students!
